It’s coming full circle, a new day party is in town solely focused on the foodies!
Finally, a space where I can spread my wings and loosen my belt (lol). I can soak my heart and soul in hip hop and my tummy in delectables.
Entrepreneurs like Nikki Steward with Five Brunch and Makia Kambon with Beats & Brunch are turning the tide for us, sophisticated eaters 😉 . Tonight, Makia has thrown a twist on to her special event! Hitting the summer with a Beats & Barbeque! Her event is a curation of music and some of our cookout favorites by some of the best chefs in Columbus, Ohio.
If this evening is anything like her Beats & Brunch then you’re in for a special treat! At the brunch, I was able to chill to the vibes of one of my favorite DJs, DJ Rich NYCe and sip mimosas with my fresh omelette made to order just like I like it. Did I say there was lobster mac and cheese? If I didn’t then now it has been said. Not to mention great convo with intelligent people. The energy in the room gave me all the low-key New York chic feels without flying 500+ miles.
But wait? How does this all vibe with my so-called socially conscious self you might ask? Well, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Mansion Day School. Mansion is a non-profit coeducational preschool through 5th grade preparatory day school that embraces diversity and instills confidence. (Cool right?!) You’ll find Mansion in the heart of Columbus right across from the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
What a great way to start your Saturday on this beautiful day. Knowing that you’re attending an event that not only soothes your soul with good vibes and eats but gives to an educational institution that is enriching the lives of our children with a strong curriculum. I’m all for a school that celebrates the youth by including a Fine Arts program, which is something that is near and quite dear to my heart.
People are already beginning to ask me what’s going on tonight and where will I be. Well, I’ve got my ticket to Beats & Barbeque, so I hope to see you there. Tickets won’t be sold at the door, so pull out your phone and get your tickets for tonight. You can purchase a ticket to eat and party for $25 OR just party for $10. See you at 5pm, food pops off at 6pm. I look forward to breaking bread with you.
