Greetings everyone!! Well, here we go. We’re about to close out the summer months and prepare for fall. But don’t worry, the summer season isn’t officially over and neither is the fun. We still have some warm weather to enjoy so let’s take a look at the events that are still available this holiday weekend.Soon the Columbus Commons will have to close for the winter months, so do all you can to see what they have to offer. This Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., you can take the little ones for a good time at Family Funday. There will be inflatables, arts, games, the carousel will be open, and more. Admission will be $5 and you can stay for a showing of The Jungle Book afterwards. Another movie to enjoy with the family will be The Goonies. This classic adventure film will be showing at the Marcus Cinema in Pickerington throughout the entire holiday weekend. Visit www.marcustheatres.com for show times.
This weekend you want to take every opportunity that you can to have some fun outdoors. The Canal Winchester Labor Day Festival will be held Monday and will include music, rides, food, a car show, a parade, and so much more. Enjoy this free family event from 12 – 5 p.m. If your family is looking for a new home, then check out the 2017 BIA Parade of Homes which kicks off this Saturday. Running until September 17, the Parade of Homes will feature the latest in home style giving you great ideas for your future palace. Tickets are $13 in advance if you click here and $15 if purchased at the event. Also there will be a $5, cash only parking fee.
There will be some big music festivals taking place this weekend. The one event that you need to make an effort to attend will be RIVERFEST614. The biggest event of the weekend will feature R&B and Hip Hop greats such as Jagged Edge, Adina Howard, Dwele, Case, Bun B., and more. Return on Sunday for the gospel presentation of RIVERFEST614 which will include gospel artists Byron Cage, Christon Gray, Geofrey Golden, Will & Alexis, Amante Lacey, and more. You can click here to purchase tickets starting at $20 for both events.
It’s going to be a long weekend so you have to make sure you get it started right with the best Friday night party in the city. First Fridays will host the Copious Take Over this week offering 3 floors of great entertainment. Enjoy live music, a VIP suite experience, and more. You can’t miss out on this major event so make sure you get your tickets by clicking here.
Well it’s been a great summer. Festivals, concerts, vacations, cookouts; it’s all been a really great time. It will soon wrap up with the unofficial ending taking place this holiday weekend, but the events being held should put a great cap on a perfect season. Even though summer is ending, doesn’t necessarily mean the fun will too. My favorite season, Fall, is right around the corner and I’m sure we’ll find great ways to enjoy ourselves. Be sure to come back each week and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Until next time, be safe and take care. Deuces!!
