Hey there guys!! I hope you all made it safely through our mid week winter storm. I stayed safe and cozy in the house until that madness passed. But even if you had a small mid week break, nothing compares to joy of the freakin weekend. You know I have a few events to help you enjoy your time so let’s see what’s going on and get started!

I’ve previously told you about Saturday Morning Cartoons at the Gateway Film Center and this weekend the series continues with a special Cupid edition. Let the kiddies stay in their PJ’s to enjoy some beloved classics while getting geared up for Valentines Day. Check out the cartoons and grab a bowl of cereal beginning at 10 a.m. for a $5 admission. You can also choose to spend your Saturday morning checking out one of my favorites, The Land Before Time, on the National Geographic Giant Screen at COSI. You can catch a show on Sunday also for an admission of $5 for either. Visit www.COSI.org for showtimes and to purchase tickets. Lastly, Skate Zone 71 will host a Pajama Skate Party this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Admission will only be $2 for the little ones sporting their PJ’s.

Black History Month continues with some great, empowering events. The Northern Lights Branch Library will host the first annual Black Votes Matter Brunch. Meet with Ohio’s democratic, statewide candidates to discuss issues that matter most to our communities. The gathering will be held this Saturday at 11:45 a.m. and you can purchase tickets for $5 here. Shadowbox Live is currently running The Dream which is a performance inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s unforgettable speech and filled with stories, dance, and music to illustrate the most important events of this country, The Civil Rights Movement. This show will run until May 13th so be sure to find tickets by visiting www.shadowboxlive.org.

We are a month and a half into the New Year so we can’t stop the momentum of making sure 2018 is the best year ever. Ladies, be sure to attend the Exquisite Ladies New Year! New You! event being held this weekend at Exquisite Wine & Cigar. Allow beauty professionals to provide tips on how to enhance your look for any occasion. This experience will include food, wine, and music all while networking with some lovely individuals. Tickets are still available for this two day event and can be purchased here.

OSU great Eddie George will be featured in a performance of Chicago this Saturday at the Palace theatre. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at www.BroadwayInColumbus.com.

Gather your friends and head over to the Rehab Tavern for Brunch + Beats. This monthly event returns offering food, mimosas, board games, music, and more. Make sure you attend from noon to 4 p.m. this Saturday.

You already know the best way to kick off your weekend is to stop by Copious for HERE FRIDAYS. This week will feature a special Celebration of Life for our Beloved Whitney Houston. Premium Blend will be performing your favorite Whitney songs all night. Tickets are available and can be purchased here.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am definitely ready for the weekend. You may just want to stay in and relax the entire time, but if you want to get out for some fun, check out one of these great events. I’ll continue to be on the hunt for more next week so make sure you come back to see what I find. Until then, be safe and take care. Deuces!!
