Celebrating Black Comic Creators

Register for this one-of-a kind event in honor of Black History Month. COSI has partnered with Ohio History Connection and the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center for a historic team-up!
Meet a panel of nationally known Black comic art creators: Ms. Takeia Marie, Dr. Standford Carpenter, and Mr. Victor Dandridge Jr. as they discuss the history of African Americans in comic creation, as well as highlighting contemporary artists and creators who are making extraordinary contributions to the comic book space today. The program will be moderated by Mr. Derek Pridemore: Curator of Behind the Mask: Black Power in Comics exhibition. The program will be hosted by COSI’s President and CEO, Dr. Frederic Bertley, as well as Dr. Charles Wash, Director of the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center.
